Ladies Only Concealed Carry Class

women onlySorry guys, but this class is all about the Ladies.

The goal of the Ladies Only Concealed Carry Course is to provide the student with a solid foundation in personal protection and carrying a concealed handgun, knowledge of various types of handguns, ammunition and how it functions, fundamentals of shooting in conventinal and non-conventinal shooting positions, legal aspects of carrying and use of force fundamentals.

REQUIRED GEAR:

  • IWB/OWB Strong side holster (no shoulder rigs, pocket holsters, purse holsters or cross draw holsters)
  • 150 Rounds of Factory ammunition (No reloads or remanufactured ammo allowed)
  • Semiauto pistol - .380 or larger with a minimum of 3 magazines
  • Mag Carrier with 2 mag capacity.
  • Baseball type cap
  • Eye & hearing protection. Amplified muffs highly suggested.
  • Hydration System or bottled water
  • Knee pads highly suggested
  • Cover garment
  • A positive attitude

Tactical Treatment of Gunshot Wounds

Someone that is bleeding excessively from a gunshot or similar wound has as little as 90 seconds to live. Don't just stand there—learn the techniques anyone can use to buy the precious time needed until EMS arrives. No prior first aid or medical training is needed! In this course you will learn some of the following:

  • Situational Safety & Security Considerations
  • Treatment of Massive Bleeding
  • Treatment of Airway Obstructions
  • Treatment of a Tension Pneumothorax
  • Needle Decompression of a Tension Pneumothorax
  • Tourniquet Staging & Use
  • Hemostatic Agents
  • Evisceration Injuries
  • Building your Blowout / IFAK

Attendees will receive live instruction, hands-on demonstrations, and Course Certificate. Register today before seats are sold out. This is NOT a general First-Aid & CPR class, however we highly suggest getting certified in general First-Aid & CPR also. This course specifically covers gunshot wounds and massive bleeding.

women onlySorry guys, but this class is all about the Ladies. This course is 8 hours long and includes classroom and range time learning to shoot handguns as well as other women only specific topics. The ladies will learn rules for safe gun handling; pistol parts and operation; ammunition; shooting fundamentals; two handed standing position; cleaning the pistol; and continued opportunities for skill development. The Ladies will receive a course completion certificate after taking a basic Student Examination.

NOW INCLUDES 1 hour of New Hampshire & Federal Law and Use of Force.

In this class you will start by shooting a .22LR caliber revolver and then progress to a sub-compact 9mm, a full size .40 caliber and a compact .45 caliber semi-automatic. By shooting various sizes and calibers it should give you a good idea of what size frame and caliber is right for you.

Use of our firearms and ammo are included in the class price.
Safe, comfortable and air conditioned classroom.

NRA Basic Pistol Course

handgunlThe NRA Basics of Pistol Shooting is intended for all individuals regardless of previous shooting experience or NRA-affiliation. This course is at least 8-hours long and includes classroom and range time learning to shoot revolvers and semi-automatic pistols.

Students learn NRA’s rules for safe gun handling; pistol parts and operation; ammunition; shooting fundamentals; range rules; shooting from the bench rest position, and two handed standing positions; cleaning the pistol; and continued opportunities for skill development. Students will receive the NRA Guide to the Basics of Pistol Shooting handbook, NRA Gun Safety Rules, and take a Basics of Pistol Shooting Student Examination, and course completion certificate.

The Dog Fight! 2.0 - Advanced Range Session for Operators!

youtubeheaderPrerequisite for this session is the 3 Gun Dog fight or other advanced training which must be submitted to us for review.

This is an advance session for (operators) with all new drills which will including timed drills, malfunction drills, moving targets, medical emergencies and more. If you have taken the 3 Gun Dog fight your gonna love this sessions with advanced drills, close quarters combat, long range shooting and more to test your skills. Your gonna have to move and think in this session and your gear better be up to snuff.

The session will start with intermediate drills to eliminate any newbies and facebook warriors, each drill will become increasingly more difficult and complex as the day goes on with multiple threats, positions, mag changes, platform transitions and much more. Try to keep up so you don't get eliminated as there are various reasons that you might (just keep reading......

Safety violations (Immediate Dismissal)

  • Unsafe holsters or holstering.
  • Failure to use Safety on slung rifle
  • Flagging anyone including themselves
  • Poor trigger finger discipline i.e. Running with finger on the trigger
  • Poor muzzle discipline
  • Gear or safeties that do not work. ~ All gear will be checked at the beginning of the session.
  • SA/DA Handgun with no decocker.
  • Failing to decock firearm or apply safety before holstering.
  • Rounds going over the berm.

Non-Inclusive list of Deduction Factors:

  • Too many unaccounted rounds. (5) Deduction of 2 kills
  • Hitting No-threat targets or a hostage. Deduction of 1 kill
  • Failure to Follow directions. - Deduction at Range Officer Discretion
  • Missing or Skipping part of the drill. Deduction of 1 kill
  • Not eliminating all threats on the battlefield. Deduction of 2 kills
  • Others at Range Officer Discretion

Gear Needed:

  • Any Rifle, AK, AR, PC Carbine or AR/AK Pistol with sling. (Slings are not optional).
  • Iron sights, Red Dot or magnified scopes acceptable.
  • 2 magazines with mag carrier or chest rig for Rifle magazines.
  • Semi-auto handgun with strong side or appendix holster.  MOS sights OK - no other carry mode acceptable.
      ~ Note: Appendix carry is not the preferred carry method for slung rifles.
  • Any tactical semi-auto or pump action shotgun in 20, 16 or 12 gauge. We will also have one you can use if you do not have a shotgun.
  • Minimum 3 magazines & mag carrier for pistol magazines.
  • 250 rounds handgun ammunition. NO remanufactured or reloaded ammunition.
  • 250 rounds rifle ammunition. NO remanufactured or reloaded ammunition.
  • Hydration
  • Eye & ear protection
  • Knee pads optional
  • Backup guns highly recommended.
  • Got a ballistic vest & helmet, bring it, wear it so you can see what wearing it all day is like.

This is NOT a competition, this is a skills test, there are no prizes, no atta-boy's or kudos other than the satisfaction that you attended and knowing you can keep up with other operators. Successful attendees still standing at the end of the day will have the satisfaction of knowing that they are in the top 5% of all gun owners. You may fail, you may prevail, but we guarantee you will have a lot of fun and learn a lot!

Notes: 

  • All operators will receive a "Certificate of Attendance" indicating highest stage achieved and total number of kills. Sorry no participation trophy's today!
  • All gear will be checked at the beginning of the session for safety. You can change guns at anytime during the day with Range Officer approval after a safety check of the gun. Failure to notify range officer will result in dismissal. Backup guns are highly recommended.
  • Defensive Strategies, LLC reserves the right to adjust the course of fire based on attendees, skill level, and time. We have 20 stages of fire planned plus a bonus round,
  • Course of fire has 100+ potential kills/shots plus a bonus rounds, only fatal shots will be logged and scored.
  • Breaks will be taken during the day including a hour lunch.
  • Final drils and stages will be released and sent to all registered participates the week of the event.

Failure to observe the rules of safe firearm handling will result in immediate dismissal from the session. This includes muzzle discipline, trigger finger discipline, flagging anyone or yourself, not using safety on slung rifles, and others as determined by a range officer. If you don't have these basic fundamentals down including working from a holster, you probably should not sign up for this range session.

NRA Basic Shotgun Shooting Course

Teaches the basic knowledge, skills, and attitude for the safe and proper use of a shotgun in shooting a moving target.
This course is at least ten-hours long and includes classroom and range time learning how to shoot shotguns at moving targets. Students learn NRA’s rules for safe gun handling; shotgun parts and operation; shotgun shell components; shotgun shell malfunctions; shooting fundamentals; range rules; shooting at straight away and angled targets; cleaning; and continued opportunities for skill development. Students will receive the Basics of Shotgun Shooting handbook, NRA Gun Safety Rules brochure, Winchester/NRA Marksmanship Qualification booklet, take a Basics of Shotgun Shooting Student Examination, and course completion certificate.

Prerequisites
The are no prerequisites for taking this course, and the material is accessible to appropriately supervised mature children. Be aware that the proper fitting of a shotgun to a shooter can be time-consuming.
Course Completion
For best results, the shotgun shooting skills exercise is repeated several times, with feedback from the instructor.
Students will receive feedback on the live-fire exercise and a course certificate upon successful completion of the lessons. There is a short written test on the lesson material at the end of the course.

The goal of the Second Amendment Foundation Training Division's “F.A.S.T Handgun” course is to provide the student with a solid foundation in basic knowledge of handgun "Fundamentals and Safety Training", a basic understanding of ammunition and how it functions as well as the shooting fundamentals.

NOW INCLUDES 1 hour of New Hampshire & Federal Law and Use of Force.

A person new to the use of a firearm for personal defense typically has a broad range of questions and is faced with learning a number of skills that are critical in the safe use of a firearm – in this case a handgun. F.A.S.T Handgun is specifically designed to provide a person new to handguns the opportunity to gain that knowledge and learn the basics of operation, cleaning and maintenance, safety and much more in a convenient 4 to 8 hour course. “F.A.S.T Handgun” is also meant as an introductory course for students new to handguns prior to taking SAFTD Defensive Handgun 1 or NRA Defensive Pistol.
